Program Synopsis

These bachelor's degree programs typically combine classroom theory with hands-on work training so students can gain practical skills and an understanding of how to successfully manage businesses within the hospitality and tourism industries.
Graduates can be prepared to work as administrators of hotels and food-service facilities in schools, hospitals and correctional facilities. They can also work in other hospitality-related positions, including sales in the food service industry.
The coursework investigates event management, business law, hospitality accounting and hospitality information systems. Liberal arts courses, such as history, mathematics, foreign language and social science, are typically included in the curriculum. Elective courses may be offered in travel and tourism management or gaming operations.
