AIT world-class open university undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs are delivered in collaboration with our international partner universities including: the Open University of Malaysia (OUM) and the Banasthali University, India.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

AIT in 2011 entered into an institutional partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to enable AIT students' access to top-class teaching and learning materials of all the courses being taught at MIT via the Open Courseware initiative of the university.

Through this agreement, AIT's faculty and students have direct and free access to teaching and learning materials on over 2,000 courses spanning MIT's entire curriculum via AIT's university campus network.

These materials and learning resources on all MIT's programs include: syllabuses, reading materials, lecture notes, students handouts, courseware, lessons, learning videos and lectures, exams, e-books, e-journals, e-lab resources and other teaching and learning materials of all MIT's undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

This special agreement with MIT is in line with AIT's determination to offer its students high quality education and professional training offered by top universities anywhere in the world. Working with world-class institutions like MIT is central to AIT's strategy to partner with the best in the world of university education and professional training to offer our students world-class quality degree programs of international standard

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST)

AIT is affiliated with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana to offer a number of its campus-based undergraduate programs in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business Administration.

The University of Science and Technology succeeded the Kumasi College of Technology which was established by a Government Ordinance on 6th October, 1951. It was however, opened officially on 22nd January, 1952 with 200 Teacher Training students transferred from Achimota, to form the nucleus of the new College.

Once established, the College began to grow and in 1957, the School of Architecture, Town Planning and Building was inaugurated and its first students were admitted in January, 1958, for professional courses in Architecture, Town Planning and Building. As the College expanded, it was decided to make the Kumasi College of Technology a purely science and technology institution. In pursuit of this policy, the Teacher Training College, with the exception of the Art School, was transferred in January, 1958, to the Winneba Training College, and in 1959 the Commerce Department was transferred to Achimota to form the nucleus of the present School of administration of the University of Ghana, Legon.

The Open University of Malaysia (OUM). Malaysia

AIT in collaboration with the Open University of Malaysia (OUM) is offering a number of Open University undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Education, Project Management among others.

The OUM was set-up by a Consortium of eleven (11) Malaysian Public Universities. It has a student population of close to 80,000 and offer programs (using the open learning mode of delivery) in management, business administration, education, information technology, software engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering among others at all levels including: Diploma (two years), Bachelors degree (4 years), Masters degree (2 years) and PhD (4 years).

OUM adopts the motto University for All" which is consistent with its philosophy on democratization of education. This philosophy underlies the belief that: education should be made available to all, regardless of time, place, age, social land economic background. OUM has entered into an institutional partnership with AIT and the two institutions have signed a comprehensive partnership agreement to enable AIT deliver OUM undergraduate and postgraduate (graduate) programs in Ghana and in the West African sub-region. Students registered on the OUM programs will be awarded OUM degrees.
